About

OUR VISION
We envision a world in which families and communities are not divided by mass incarceration, where we all work collectively to fight interconnected systems of oppression to create a just world for everyone.

OUR MISSION

NOLA to Angola is an annual bicycle ride fundraiser that financially supports the efforts of myriad organizations working to mitigate and reverse the impacts of the United States prison industrial complex. Biking each mile in solidarity with families who travel long distances to connect with their incarcerated loved ones, the ride educates people about the ways in which mass incarceration works in tandem with other systems of oppression, such as poverty and white supremacy, to harm members of our communities. We do this through collective organizing, as well as leading training rides and educational events. We prioritize partnering with organizations led by formerly-incarcerated people and people of color, and work to support their leadership on prison justice issues.

The ride to Angola Prison from New Orleans has supported and funded Cornerstone Builders Bus Project, which connects families to their incarcerated loved ones, and The First 72+, which provides re-entry programs and transitional housing. In 2023, the ride will support Cornerstone, Daughters Beyond Incarceration, RISE, and REMILA.
